This work is inspired by traditional Chinese calligraphy and uses the decorative Chinese character 金 in nine fold seals to compose a pyramid, which signifies power, wealth, eternity, and rebirth.
The square and pictograms in the background of the work disorient the notion of time and space. All elements are stripped of their original context and reconstruct a new visual spectacle. Do the square and stair image signify the path to the ultimate goal? Or are they a doorway to the eternal home?
